Semen Indonesia Reports 14.7 Percent Increase In Sales

Yogyakarta, June 13 (Antara) - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) recorded a 14.7 percent increase in cement sales in 2012 exceeding the country`s average increase of 14.5 percent. "In 2012, we sold 22.5 million tons of cement , up 14.7 percent from 19.6 million tons in 2011," head of the marketing department of the state company Rudi Hartono said here on Thursday. Sales strategy adopted by Semen Indonesia has succeeded in maintaining its position as the market leader in the country cement industry, Rudi said. The company had a 44% share of cement the market in the country last year, he told a "customer gathering" attended by cement retailers in the city. Semen Indonesia is the country`s largest cement producer with production units in Gresik, West Sumatra and South Sulawesi.
