U.S. EMBASSY IN AZERBAIJAN ORGANIZES INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR AZERBAIJANI STUDENTS INTERESTED IN STUDYING AT U.S. MILITARY ACADEMIES

Baku, 7 November,(AzerTAj)Embassy of the United States in Azerbaijan organized Friday information sessions for Azerbaijani students who are interested in studying at the U.S. military academies.

The event participants were informed of the educational process in the universities
of the United States Air Force Academy, United States Naval Academy, United States
Coast Guard Academy and the United States Military Academy.
Applicants are required to demonstrate the highest levels of academic achievement,
English language ability and physical condition. Each Academy offers an intense
four-year academic program in a challenging military environment.
Those who graduate from the program will receive a bachelor`s degree in areas such
as engineering, math, business administration, oceanography and government.
Graduates are also well prepared for leadership roles.
Educational expenses of Azerbaijani students will be funded by the U.S government.
It was also stressed during the event these kinds of programs contribute to
strengthening U.S.-Azerbaijan relationship.
The first Azerbaijani student Huseyn Panahov to attend a United States military
academy started class at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in summer 2008.
