Former Diplomat Calls For World Free Of Nuclear Weapons

Islamabad, Sept 28, IRNA – A former Pakistani ambassador on Saturday called for a world free of nuclear weapons adding that the security of the world must not rely on nuclear weapons. Talking to IRNA, former envoy to UAE, Air Marshal (Retd) Syed Qaiser Hussain agreed with the statement of Iranian President Hassan Rohani that the Zionist regime must put its nuclear arms under international control and no nation should possess nuclear weapons. “I think the demands of Iranian president are genuine,” he said He added that the Zionist regime is an undeclared nuclear power and poses a threat to the peace of Middle East. “Zionist regime must not be given free hand to implement its nefarious designs against Muslims,” he noted. The analyst said that the world must practically stop Zionists from developing nuclear weapons. Former diplomat added that it is encouraging to see that West has engaged Iran in talks to settle disputes. He strongly believed that the dialogue between Iran and western powers must continue to resolve issues. Qaiser Hussain said that it seems that the western states have in principle accepted Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. He went on to say that Iran is a sovereign country and has every right to pursue independent policies. “West must respect Iran’s basic rights,” he stressed. He also called for an end to western propaganda against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program./end
