GEORGIA TO HOST CONFERENCE ON REINFORCING INDEPENDENCE AND EFFICIENCY OF JUSTICE IN SOUTH CAUCASUS
Baku, 15 November,(AzerTAj)A conference will be held in Tbilisi on November 10-20 on reinforcing the independence and efficiency of judicial systems in the South Caucasus.
The event will be co-organized by the Council of Europe and Georgian Ministry of
Justice.
The purpose of the conference is to take stock of the progress made in the South
Caucasus countries in the field of justice and the rule of law and to define
priorities for their judicial reforms. The meeting will also consider how to improve
citizen access to justice and enhance the professionalism and efficacy of judges.
The event will be attended by Justice Ministers, Presidents of Supreme Courts,
Principal State Prosecutors, Ombudspersons and other members of the judicial
professions of the South Caucasus countries.
Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio and
Georgian Foreign Minister Eka Tkeshelashvili will be among the personalities
speaking at the opening of the conference.
