TEN HOUSES COLLAPSE IN C SULAWESI QUAKE EARLY MONDAY

Tolitoli, Central Sulawesi, Nov. 17 (ANTARA) - Ten wooden houses collapsed due to a tectonic earthquake in Tolitoli, Central Sulawesi, early on Monday.
Rahman, the owner of one of the affected houses, said here on Monday the earthquake happened at 1.07 am local time and was so strong it caused the roof of his house to come down.
"Members of my family screamed when the quake occurred, but luckily they all survived with only some of them suffering light injuries," he said.
Most of Tolitoli's residents rushed out of the houses when the earthquake hit the area.
The national meteorological and geophysics office reported the temblor registered 7.7 on the Richter scale.
Its epicenter was located 1.41 degrees northern latitude and 122.18 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 10 km below sea level, around 138 km northwest of Gorontalo, and 48 km north of Paleleh, Buol District, which shares a border with Gorontalo Province.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties in the earthquake in Tolitoli.
