Qatar Urges Promotion of Arab Music - Minister

Doha, December 02 (QNA) - Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr. Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari has underlined that Qatar is sparing no effort to support the promotion of the Arabic music as an integral part of Arab culture as a whole including music, theater, cinema, fine art, and literature. Speaking at a reception held for the members of the Arab Society of music, organized by Qatar Academy of Music this evening at Katara, HE the Minister said that affluent Arab music need special attention by all the institutions of the Arab countries in order to maintain it and convey it to the new generation of youth and children, warning at the same time of the seriousness of today's generation being influenced by Western music and exotic cultures through means of social networking , the Internet, satellite channels and different technology means. He called on all Arab governments and institutions to maintain the legacy of Arab art civilization, stressing that the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage in Qatar is ready to support all efforts, both within Qatar or abroad to improve the quality of Arabic music and maintain the legacy of Arab music and honour symbols of Arabic music who have contributed to the musical movement worldwide.(QNA)
