AISI TO STAGE "JAKARTA MOTORCYCLE SHOW 2008"
Jakarta, Nov 20 (ANTARA) - The Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industries (AISI) is to hold a biennial exhibition titled "Jakarta Motorcycle Show" as part of its campaign to promote safe motorcycle riding.
"We are trying to build awareness among people on how to ride motorcycles safely," AISI chairman Gunadi Sindhuwinata said here, Thursday, adding that the theme of the exhibition would be "Ride Safely, Enjoy Life".
The show would take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) from December 6 through 14, 2008.
AISI's chairman for commercial affairs, Bambang Asmarabudi, predicted the "Jakarta Motorcycle Show" would be a big event which not only the Indonesian public but also many foreign people had been looking forward to.
The show, he said, was being eagerly awaited by international motorcycle vendors, whose brands, including Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Kanzen and Bajaj, would be on display.
The exhibition would be participated in by 70 vendors, including six motorcycle brands and 47 motorcycle accessory makers.
During the exhibition, two seminars will take place, namely on sustainable mobility through traffic and transportation management for a green environment, safety and energy saving.
Coordinating Minister for Economy Sri Mulyani Indrawati was slated to give a keynote speech highlighting efforts to minimize motor vehicle accidents.
