Laos receives key to Finance School

(KPL) The Lao and Vietnamese governments held a hand-over ceremony at the Dongkhamxang Finance School on 19 November.
Minister of Finance Somdy Duangdy received the keys to the premises from the Vietnamese Minister of Finance Vu Van Ninh. On hand at the hand-over were among others, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith and officials of the two countries.
The Vietnamese government financed the construction of the school but the overall project is a joint cooperative effort on education of the two countries, Laos and Vietnam, which stresses on imparting financial knowledge to Lao finance officials.
The construction, which costs VND 86 billion or US$5 million, started in June last year. The school is made up of six buildings and offices covering 2,810 square metres. The teaching complex, devoted entirely to classrooms, covers 2,573 square metres and two dormitories occupy 3,879 square metres.
The restaurant and hall covers 1,010 square metres and 2,438 square metres, respectively.
