CAREC CONFERENCE KICKS OFF IN BAKU
Baku, 21 November,(AzerTAj)Baku is hosting today a conference of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program of the Asian Development Bank.
The event brings together representatives from CACER countries, including
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia
and China.
Opening the conference, President of ADB Haruhiko Kuroda said the bank has invested
$5 million to six road projects in CAREC countries. He said that until 2020 the
bank`s funding in road construction activities within the program will make $14
million.
Prior to the conference, its participants visited the Alley of Honors to lay a
wreath at the tomb of Azerbaijan`s nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and put flowers
at the grave of eminent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
