INDONESIANS IN PNG WILLING TO GO HOME

Jakarta, Nov 24 (ANTARA) - Many Indonesian citizens living in Papua New Guinea are willing to go home in Papua province following improving prosperity in the Indonesian easternmost province, a district head said.

"I think their intention to go home has been caused by the need to obtain health care facilities, basic necessaries and for sending their children to school," Yusak Yaluwo, head of Papua's Boven Digoel district said here on Sunday.
The district head made the remarks in response to reports that some of the Indonesian citizens in PNG were willing to go home after they learned about the rapid development growth in their home town in Boven Digoel
According to the district head the number of Indonesian citizens living in Papau New Guinea (PNG) who came from Boven Digoel in Papua province reaches 25,000.
"I arrive at the number based on information I received from some colleagues at PNG government offices coupled with data from the Indonesian Embassy there," Yaluso said here on Sunday.
The Boven Digoel district head visited PNG last at the PNG government's invitation. He was invited together with the heads of other districts sharing the border with PNG.
They attended a number of functions in Port Moresby.
