ANAS PAINTING EXHIBITION CYOVERS MANY GENERATIONS
Bandung, W Java, Nov 24 (ANTARA) - A Yanas painting exhibition "Culture Change Memorabilia Flash Back of 60's Woodstock Festival", would be held in the French Cultural Center (CCF) auditorium and Galerie Esp'Art in Bandung on November 5 to 13, 2008.
Yanas, an Indonesian graduate of fine arts, said that being fanatic in something is unhealty.
In this case, fanaticism in global cultural revolution is the birth of 'Counter Culture Generation of 69 Woodstock Hippies'.
"I'm like a subject in two different time periods, one is nostalgia and the other the present. My works are presenting and responding to the 1960s from my point of view living in the present time," he said.
Yanas said that his exhibition was inspired by styled father and uncle of the 1960s, and also inspired by 60's and 70's music and 'pop-art' styles.
He has also been participating in several Bandung art performances. Yanas, who is teaching how to play classic guitars at several music schools has held several musical concerts since 1996.
