UN's Consolidated Appeals Process, (CAP) to evoke action from various corners of the world to protect humanity from natural and man-made calamities is an annual event since 1991, but it is the first time the international body launches its appeal from the Middle East.

Sheikh Saif hailed the role played by the UN's Refugee Agency UNHCR in alleviating the sufferings of millions of people around the world, and offered the ministry's support to the Humanitarian Appeal 2009.
