UAE, Ireland discuss economic cooperation

Dubai, Nov 30, 2008 (WAM) - UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansouri and Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Enterprise, Trade, '&' Employment Mary Coughlan yesterday held a meeting in Dubai to discuss ways to further promote trade, and economic relations between their two countries.

At the meeting, Al Mansouri said the UAE provides one of the world's best environments for investments thanks to the economies openness and diversification policies.

For her part, the Irish senior official who leads said the UAE has become the Gulf's most important destination for Irish companies. Irish exports to the UAE, she noted, reached 290 million euro in 2007.
