211 UAE nationals back home from Thailand
Dubai, Dec 1, 2008 (WAM) - Two hundred and eleven UAE nationals who were stranded in Thailand arrived this morning in Dubai International Airport onboard the first aircraft, a Boeing 676-200 aircraft, which carried them from U-Taphao Airport 150 kilometres east of Bangkok, upon instructions from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The passengers, 70 of whom were patients and senior people, were received by a team from the Foreign Ministry led by Undersecretary Saif Sultan Al Aryani, officials from Dubai National Air Travel Agency (Dnata), Department of Naturalization '&' Residency - Dubai (DNRD) and the Airport who ensured smooth check-in procedures upon arrival. Al Aryan announced that another plane carrying a group of nationals will arrive tonight and a third one within 36 hours. He put the number of nationals registered in Thailand at 540.
