Vice President meets Arab officials
Abu Dhabi, Dec 1, 2008 (WAM) - Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received yesterday at the Presidential Palace Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, Speaker of Bahrain's House of Representatives (HR), who is currently visiting the country.
The meeting, which was attended by Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair and a number of ministers, reviewed the role Parliamentarians in the UAE, Bahrain and other Arab countries can play in coordinating and integrating with other houses across the world in serving national issues.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the role of Arab parliaments in bolstering national unity and communicating the voice of peoples to their leaders.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed new French Ambassador Al Ain Azouaou. Sheikh Mohammed wished the new envoy success in his mission.
The Vice President also received Abdelwaheb Abdallah, Minister for Foreign Affairs in Tunisia. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and a host of Arab issues.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for enforcing Arab joint coordination and cooperation in political, economic and educational fields.
