Afghan children’s painting exhibit raising funds for shelters’ renovation

TEHRAN,June 23(MNA) – An exhibition of paintings by Afghan children opened at Tehran’s Ney Gallery yesterday to raise funds for the renovation of their houses in Sabashahr, a small town mostly populated by Afghan refugees near Tehran. Entitled “Color, My Planet”, a collection of 60 paintings by the children has been put on sale at the exhibit, curator Alma Fazeli told the Persian service of ISNA on Sunday. The children did the artworks and painted their dreams during the courses held in Sabashahr Childcare House, she added. The exhibit has been organized by the Association of Helping Children Exposed to Jeopardy, a private organization run by volunteers giving educational, health and counseling services to children and mothers. Shams Tabrizi and Molana Foundation has also collaborated in this project. The exhibit will be running until June 29 at the gallery located at 3 Nilufar Alley in the Aqdasieyh neighborhood.
