Al Roumi, Finnish counterpart discuss bilateral relations in Social Welfare and Development

HELSINKI: Mariam bint Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs of U.A.E. and Laura Raty, Minister of Social Affairs and Health of Finland have discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them. During her visit to Helsinki, Al Roumi underscored the importance of exchanging experiences among states in the areas of social welfare and development, which contribute to the generation of common ideas and initiatives that elevate social work development in various sectors. Al Roumi was accompanied by a number of specialists from social affairs to brief on the most recent successful experiences and how to take advantage of them. On the side-lines of her visit, Al Roumi also held meetings with senior officials from institutions of social affairs to review the latest services provided to beneficiaries for social assistance and the most important modern practices for the care of the elderly people. The U.A.E. minister and the accompanying delegation was also briefed on Finnish experience for integrating people with disabilities in public education schools and nurseries.
