US dubs its plane landing in Iran as ‘bureaucratic issue’

TEHRAN, Sept.6 (MNA) – The US has dubbed the incident where Iran asked a US chartered plane flight land in Bandar Abbas as ‘bureaucratic issue.’
A report in Washington Post revealed that the plane was operated by FlyDubai and was bound for Dubai from Bagram airbase north of Kabul. The Post report quoted Marie Harf, State Department spokeswoman, saying that the issue had been resolved later and the plane “has departed Iran and landed in Dubai.”
The issue rose when Iran’s air traffic authorities ordered the plane to land since “when it entered Iranian airspace," the official said, "air traffic controllers there had no updated flight plan reflecting its presence.”
The plane was carrying 100 Americans from Afghanistan to Dubai. “The Iranian government made no initial comment on the incident. FlyDubai aircraft regularly fly in Iranian airspace. The company operates commercial flights between Iran and various points in the region,” Post report said.
Iran has not yet officially commented on the issue.
