Iran UN envoy calls for trial of Israelis

TEHRAN, Sep. 09 – Iran’s permanent ambassador to UN in the open meeting of UN Security Council has pointed to the recent Israeli atrocities in Gaza and asked for trial of Israelis for war crimes.
Hossein Dehqani on the open meeting of UN Security Council delivered speech as Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) representative.
He addressed the meeting and said that despite international efforts, children are the main victims of battles and wars around the world.
He pointed to the number of Gaza children killed in the recent Israeli atrocities in the besieged enclave and said that 501 children were killed, 3,000 were injured and at least 373,000 other children witnessed the crimes.
He also pointed to destruction of 22 schools and damages to 219 others and said that in addition to medication aid, “these Palestinian children need psychological care.”
As NAM representative in the conference, Dehqani asked the international community to bring Israelis to criminal court for their atrocities in Gaza.
UN Secretary General’s special representative, deputy secretary general of UNESCO, 15 permanent members and 63 countries’ representatives attended this UN Security Council open meeting.
