OFFICIAL OF AZERBAIJAN OMBUDSMAN`S OFFICE ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL EVENT IN STRASBOURG
Baku, 13 December,(AzerTAj)Official of Azerbaijan Ombudsman`s Office Zaur
Valimammadli participated an international event held in Strasbourg, France within
joint projects of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
The event was organized by the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.
The purpose of the event was to improve activities of national human rights
institutions in CoE member states and to strengthen cooperation between these
institutions and CoE Commissioner for Human Rights.
The event brought together representatives of national human rights institutions
from more than 30 European countries, human rights experts and others.
Speaking at the event, Zaur Valimammadli briefed the attendees on work done in his
country to promote democratization and to protect human rights.
The event participants also discussed an action plan on cooperation for the next
year between CoE Commissioner for Human Rights and national human rights
institutions.
