Hunt for more Siam Paragon bomb suspects begins

BANGKOK, February 5 (TNA) - Thai police are hunting for more people suspected to have involved in last Sunday night's bombing at a walkway connecting the upscale Siam Paragon shopping complex and a skytrain station in the heart of Bangkok. Royal Thai Police Spokesman Police Lieutenant General Prawut Tawornsiri was inspecting the bombing scene again on Thursday to gather more evidence, as police believe there are more suspects involving in last Sunday night's two bomb blasts in the capital's Siam Square area, before more arrest warrants would be issued against the suspects. The Bangkok South Criminal Court approved arrest warrants against two suspected men shown on a close-circuit television (CCTV) footage, as they arrived at Siam Paragon shopping complex by a taxi shortly before the two bomb blasts on February 1. The two suspects were charged with conspiring for an attempted murder, causing explosions that could harm the lives and properties of others and carrying weapons into an urban area or a public place without any appropriate reason. Acknowledging that the bomb attack appeared to be well-ploted, police investigators have focused on a political motivation behind the incident, as it was similar to bomb attacks at a mansion in Bangkok's neighbouring Nonthaburi Province and in Min Buri area on the capital's outskirts over the past years.
