Thai Army Chief visits Singapore Feb 9-10

BANGKOK, February 9 (TNA) -- Thai Army Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr is paying a two-day official visit to Singapore, set from February 9-10, aimed to strengthen ties and cooperation between the Thai and Singapore armed forces. General Udomdej, who is also Thai Deputy Defence Minister, left Bangkok for Singapore on Monday morning and is scheduled to meet Singapore's Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing after his arrival in the island state. The Thai army chief is also scheduled to meet his Singapore counterpart Major General Perry Lim Cheng Yeow to discuss and stress on bilateral ties and cooperation between the Thai and Singapore armed forces, covering exchange on security information and opinions on new forms of threats, as well as intelligence and education for both countries' military personnel. Besides, the Thai army chief will jointly preside over a ceremony to conclude the Thai-Singapore joint military exercises 2015, code named Kocha Singha, orgaised from January 31-February 13 and hosted by Singapore.
