Islamic Troika to help ship humanitarian aid to Gaza
Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA
Majlis First Vice Speaker Mohammad Hassan Abutorabi Fard said on
Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran, Indonesia and Syria are to
form a Troika to help remove existing obstacles to shipment of
humanitarian aid to oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza.
Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani is to confer with his Egyptian and Syrian
counterparts to discuss reopening of Rafah border crossing, he said.
Abutorabi Fard made the remarks on the sidelines of Majlis open
session on Sunday.
The offer to form a Troika was made by Iran during the third meeting
of Asian Parliament Association in Jakarta and was approved by APA, he
said.
APA assigned Iran, Indonesia and Syria to form a Troika in the near
future, he said.
A Troika delegation is to be formed in the near future and visit the
countries which have joint borders with the occupied
Palestinian lands mainly Egypt, he said.
The parliament speakers from Iran, Indonesia and Syria have already
discussed the issue and are to continue such talks in the future, he
said.
APA has called on Egypt to open Rafah border crossing to let
humanitarian aid go to the oppressed people in Gaza Strip, he pointed
out.
