BAKU MAY HOST REGIONAL SUMMIT OF DAVOS FORUM
Baku, 16 December,(AzerTAj)The idea was stated by Mr. Borge Brende, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum in his meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade.
He noted that along with Almaty, Baku is a candidate city to host such summit in 2009. The major factor in acceptance of such decision on conducting in Baku of such authoritative forum was, according to Mr. Brende, the leading role of Azerbaijan in region, the country`s accomplishments in the economic sphere.
The last regional summit was held in October current year in Istanbul.
Head of the Azerbaijan Government, in turn, expressed keenness of the Azerbaijani side in organizing this summit to attend by representatives of the world business-elite.
In meeting, the parties had comprehensive exchange of views on a number of questions of mutual interest, in particular, the measures being undertaken in numerous countries related to global financial crisis.
