SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

Baku, 16 December,(AzerTAj)President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)
Rovnag Abdullayev met Tuesday with managing director of the World Economic Forum
Borge Brende and his accompanying delegation.

Abdullayev spoke of Azerbaijan`s economic development and expansion of the oil and
gas industry, as well as implementation of ongoing regional projects.
Brende, in his turn, said annual meeting of the World Economic Forum to be held in
Davos in 2009 will discuss outstanding tasks in the light of increasing need in
energy resources.
Brende stressed his organization will be very glad to see Azerbaijani President
Ilham Aliyev in Davos forum, which will bring together heads of 42 states.
The meeting also discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
