Russia-Vietnam ‘friendly’ inter-parliamentary ties highlighted during Medvedev’s visit

HANOI, April 6. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Friday highlighted the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue between Russia and Vietnam. Medvedev said at a meeting with Nguyen Sinh Hung, chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, that the speakers of Russia’s lower and upper houses of parliament, Sergey Naryshkin and Valentina Matviyenko, who visited Vietnam before and met with Hung, had extended their friendly greetings and wishes to him. "I would like to stress that our inter-parliamentary relations are very friendly," Medvedev said, adding that he had just held talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The two men discussed a range of important issues, including those requiring cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries. "Part of documents we discussed today should pass through the parliaments of Russia and Vietnam," Medvedev said. Vietnam’s Hung expressed confidence that Medvedev’s visit to Hanoi would take relations between the two nations to a new level. Read more
