MM SPEAKER MEETS AFGHAN FOREIGN MINISTER IN BAKU

Baku, 17 December,(AzerTAj)Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis (Parliament) Ogtay Asadov met Wednesday with visiting Afghanistan`s Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Spanta.

Asadov said reciprocal visits by the two countries` officials contribute to boosting
bilateral relationship. He added the two countries` legislative bodies play a
substantial role in deepening cooperation, as well.
The speaker thanked the Afghan government for backing Azerbaijan`s “fair position on
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
Rangin Dadfar Spanta, in turn, said Azerbaijan and Afghanistan share a common
history and culture.
He thanked the Azerbaijan government for the assistance rendered to Afghanistan in
the country`s hour of need.
The Minister stressed supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity was one of his
country`s foreign policy directions.
They also discussed Azerbaijan`s participation in international peace-making
missions and other issues of mutual interest.
