Russia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia meets with Yemen’s president - diplomat

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. Russia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia has met with Yemen’s President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi for substantive talks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters on Thursday. "There was the meeting between our ambassador in Riyadh and Yemen’s president, and Yemen’s foreign minister attended it, we gave an order to our embassy and the ambassador to Saudi Arabia to maintain a permanent contact with them," said Bogdanov, who is the Russian president’s special envoy to the Middle East and Africa. The diplomat said the discussion was rather substantive. "During our contacts at all the levels we confirm our fundamental position that armed actions at all the frontlines need to be stopped and the national dialogue involving all the Yemeni sides should be resolved," he said. Bogdanov refused to comment on media reports on the Yemeni president’s message to the Russian leader. Read more
