THAI waives ticket change fee on flights to Kathmandu
BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) - Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, has waived its fee for ticket changes on the Bangkok-Kathmandu route until mid-May, while confirming its daily flight service on the same route remains intact.
In the wake of a devastating earthquake in Nepal on April 25, Wiwat Piyawirot, THAI’s Director for Sales in Thailand and Indochina, told journalists that the refund fee has been exempted for international passengers whose tickets to and from Kathmandu had been issued before April 25 and whose trips were set from April 25 to May 15, but they must seek refunds within May 31.
Wiwat noted, however, that THAI has waived fees for the changes of flights and travel dates for the air tickets of THAI flights only.
Wiwat said THAI has also exempted fees for the changes of flight routes within the Indian subcontinent, covering New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Dhaka, Kolkata, Colombo, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
According to the THAI director, the national airline has continued to operate as usual one flight a day from Bangkok to Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, Flight 319, departing from Bangkok at 10:15am and arriving in Kathmandu at 12:25pm, and Flight TG320, departing from Kathmandu at 1:30pm and arriving in Bangkok at 6:15pm.
As communications are difficult in Nepal for the time being, the THAI director stated, passengers who want to leave Nepal can book air tickets through THAI Contact Center in Bangkok via the phone number of 662-356-1111 around the clock. (TNA)
