Rafsanjani reaffirms brotherly ties with Arabs

Tehran, Dec 21, IRNA Chairman of Expediency Council, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on
Sunday reaffirmed brotherly ties with the Arab states and said that
the Western governments attempted to mar Iran-Arab ties under the
pretext of Iranian nuclear program.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a national seminar, he added
that the Western governments aim to involve the Arab states in dispute
over Iranian nuclear program and mar the current Iran-Arab amicable
relations.

By materializing such conspiracies, certain Western states are trying
to spoil the existing opportunities in the region, he said.

"So far, the Americans, the Europeans, Chinese, and Russians were
involved in the issue, and now they are thinking of taking new
partners for themselves."
On the upcoming presidential elections, he asserted that he would
definitely not nominate himself for the elections.
