JUSTICE MINISTER MEETS OUTGOING HEAD OF OSCE OFFICE IN BAKU
Baku, 23 December,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s Justice Minister, Chairman of Judicial-Legal Council Fikrat Mammadov met Monday with head of the OSCE Office in Baku Jose Luis Herrero Ansola who is completing his mission in the country.
Fikrat Mammadov said according to President Ilham Aliyev`s instructions, significant
measures were undertaken in the country to improve judicial-legal system. He also
praised the OSCE`s contribution to the process. Mammadov wished successes to Mr.
Herrero in his new appointment.
Jose Luis Herrero Ansola, in turn, praised Azerbaijan-OSCE cooperation. He stressed
during his tenure he witnessed significant improvements in Azerbaijan. Mr. herrero
also described setting up appeal courts in the country`s regions as a “substantial
accomplishment.” He praised the reforms conducted for improvement of judicial system
in the country.
According to him, cooperation between OSCE and Azerbaijan Justice Ministry will
further continue on training of judges, studying case-law of the European Court on
Human Rights, rendering legal assistance to citizens and other areas.
