Thai Cabinet to Hold Meeting in Northern Chiang Mai Province

BANGKOK, June 28 (TNA) - Thailand’s cabinet will hold its weekly meeting in the northern capital of Chiang Mai this Tuesday, with Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha also scheduled to inspect water management and quality rice production programs in Phitsanulok province. Chiang Mai governor Suriya Prasatbuntitya told journalists on Sunday that preparations to cater the cabinet meeting in the province were fully prepared. He said he himself had inspected ‘Thais help Thais market’ at the provincial hall on Saturday where the prime minister was scheduled to preside and later he had inspected the hall of the cabinet meeting, including the dining room. According to the governor, the city had prioritized more than 20 new developmental programs since the time of the previous government and local authorities would seek necessary cabinet approval via the interior minister soon so that the programs worth over 20 billion baht could be implemented within the next one-two years. Wrapping up his mobile cabinet meeting trip, General Prayut would travel to Phitsanulok’s Phrom Phiram district on Tuesday afternoon to inspect water management and quality rice production projects. He would also be inspecting law enforcement against forest encroachers before returning to Bangkok on Tuesday evening. (TNA)
