Thai exports of gems and jewelry on world top 10 list

BANGKOK, August 26 (TNA) - The Thai gems and jewelry industry has been growing well, with the country's exports of gems and jewelry having listed on the world's top 10 board. Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, under the Thai Ministry of Commerce, told journalists of the information on Wednesday. Chantira acknowledged that, despite a global economic slowdown, Thailand earned up to 5.34 billion US dollars revenue from exports of gems and jewelry alone in the first half of this year, accounting for 4.99 per cent of the country's total export revenue.
