WORKING GROUP HOLDS MEETING DEVOTED TO “YEAR OF CHILD” IN AZERBAIJAN

Baku, 30 December,(AzerTAj)On December 29, the Working Group at the State Committee on Family, Woman and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan held its regular meeting devoted to the “Year of Child” announced in the country on the Presidential Decree on 22 December 2008.

The Decree envisions preparing a comprehensive Draft Plan of activity
for 2009 (Year of Child) by the joint efforts of state, non-governmental and public
associations, as well as foreign organizations.
“Today we gathered to share our opinions on the children problems and make certain
proposals on the Plan of Actions to submit to the President of Azerbaijan up to
January 20, Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the State Committee told journalists.
“These proposals must be thoroughly thought over and entirely substantiated, but not
populist slogans. We have invited all the appropriate ministries and departments, as
well as representatives of public organizations and foreign representations, to
skillfully solve the problem in complex,” the Chairperson emphasized.
