Europeans should stop supporting terrorists - Syrian president

DAMASCUS, September 15. /TASS/. Europeans should stop supporting terrorists, if they want to resolve the refugee problem, Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview with leading Russian media organizations on Tuesday. "This is not an issue of whether Europe receives refugees or not but the thing that matters is that it is necessary to remove the primary causes of this problem," the Syrian leader said. "If Europeans are concerned about the fate of refugees, let them stop supporting terrorists. This is our opinion on this problem. This is the essence of the refugee issue," Assad said. Assad said he would like to use this meeting with journalists to "turn to all the forces with a call to unite in the struggle against terrorism because this is the road to achieving political goals set by the Syrians through dialog and political process."
