Thailand hosts 9th Thailand-Indonesia HLC

BANGKOK, September 17 (TNA) -- Thailand hosted the 9th Thailand-Indonesia High Level Committee (HLC), which was chaired by the Thailand's Chief of the Defence Forces earlier today, with an aim to strengthen military relations and cooperation on maritime issues. Chief of the Defence Forces Gen Worapong Sa-nganet co-presided the 9th Thailand-Indonesia HLC this morning at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, with his Indonesian counterpart, Gen Gatot Nurmantyo for talks on cooperation to solve maritime problems in both countries' territorial waters, as well as further strengthen the relationship between both armed forces to create maritime stability in Southeast Asia and to benefit both sides' national security. Prior to the official start of the meeting, the Royal Thai Armed Forces had organised an inspection of the Thai Armed Forces honour guards and a welcoming ceremony in honour of the supreme commander for his current tenure in office and first official visit to Thailand as the Indonesian commander-in-chief.
