Economic growth projections by NESDB almost identical with BoT

BANGKOK, Nov 17 (TNA) -- Thailand’s economic growth projections made by the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) are almost identical to those forecast by the Bank of Thailand’s (BoT) Monetary Policy Committee, said a BoT spokesman. The NESDB in its projections made recently said growth this year and 2016 would be at 2.9 per cent and between 3 – 4 per cent respectively, almost similar to forecasts made by the Monetary Policy Committee during its meeting on November 4, said the spokesman. He said positive forecasts by the Monetary Policy Committee were attributed to money injected by the government aimed at boosting the country’s economy. However, factors which could affect future country’s growth are exports and private investment while external factors include a slowdown in China and some Asian economies, global monetary volatility and an oversea political problems, the spokesman added.
