DPRK Witnesses Great Achievements in Economic Sectors

Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea made many achievements last year in the efforts to develop the national economy by its own efforts and with indigenous technology and resources. Its scientists and technicians registered a lot of successes in scientific researches. The achievements included the development of a dispersive control system and CT. Achievements were also registered in energy, materials, railway transport, mining industry and other economic sectors to reinforce the nation's foundation for self-supporting economy. The Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex successfully manufactured the nation's first subway train. Many industrial establishments such as the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory and the Wonsan Shoes Factory were updated. Manganic ferroalloy production process was established in reliance on a new melting method at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex. Meanwhile, more than 63 000 new technical innovation proposals were introduced into production across the country by the April 15 Technical Innovation Shock Brigade.
