MEN EASIER SPREAD AIDS THAN WOMEN
Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia, Jan 7 (ANTARA) - The National AIDS Control Commission (KPAN) disclosed that men spread AIDS/HIV (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome/human immunodeficiency virus) more easily through their sperm than women.
"Women are easier caught by the virus than men," KPAN secretary Nafsiah Mboi said in a seminar on AIDS/HIV control here Wednesday.
She said that AIDS/HIV did not live in open air, but in human blood, mother's milk, sperm and vaginal liquid.
In a sexual intercourse, a HIV positive male could easily spread the virus to his partner.
"Men's HIV in their sperm can easily enter women's blood stream," she said.
