Saudi Arabia hosts Arab Health Ministers Extraordinary Meeting
Riyadh, January 08, SPA -- Saudi Arabia hosts the Arab Health
Ministers Extraordinary Meeting scheduled for Riyadh on Tuesday, it
was announced here today.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Health Dr.
Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Manea and Chairman of the Executive Bureau of
the Arab Health Ministers Council, said the meeting is scheduled to
review the deteriorating health and humanitarian situation in Gaza
and ways to provide necessary medical assistance to Palestinians, in
addition to the formation of an Arab Health Extraordinary Ad Hoc
committee.
In an unprecedented move, Saudi Arabia has ordered the provision of
a daily relief airlift to Gaza and medical evacuation planes to
transport the wounded to specialized hospitals in the Kingdom.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud has also kicked off a donation-raising campaign in the Kingdom
in support of the Palestinian people, so far siphoning more than
SR171 million.
