HILMI GULER: THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN TRANSPORTATION OF AZERI NATURAL GAS VIA TURKEY-GREECE PIPELINE
Ankara, January 9 (AzerTAc) “There is no problem in shipping Azeri natural gas via Turkey-Greece pipeline”, said Hilmi Guler, Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey.
According to the Turkish Minister, following Russia`s turning off gas supplies, Turkey meets its own needs by using its own gas reserve stocks and importing gas from Azerbaijan and Iran. Guler said currently Turkey receives 17 million cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan.
Greek gas operating company DEPA also announced that Russia stopped gas supplies.
Import from Azerbaijan and gas from reserve stocks meet only 20% of Greece`s demand.
DEPA officials said gas crisis once more highlighted the importance of Nabucco project and European Union must ensure soonest implementation of the project.
