Selenge governor bans winter horse races

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of Selenge aimag has issued a direction banning horse races until June 30, in order to fulfill the implementation of the Law on children’s rights, the international Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Law on Election. This direction also prohibits minor stakes, trials and long-distance trainings of horses, as they also include children as jockeys. Tuv (Central) aimag authorities have also said “no” to the winter horse races, joining the movement for children’s rights.
