JAPANESE GOVERNMENT GIVES GRANT TO AZERBAIJAN

Baku, January 10 (AzerTAc). Masamitsu Oki, Ambassador of Japan and Yasin Babayev, head of Azerbaijan Community Development Research, Training, and Resource Center signed on January 9 US $ 85,666 agreement on repair of secondary school N 3 in Gakh region of Azerbaijan as a part of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human
Security Projects (GGP).

Mr. Oki underlined that since 2000, the government of Japan has financed 115
projects worth US $ 8 mln in the field of health, education, ecology and social
protection. Japan will further continue rendering assistance to the government of
Azerbaijan, said Ambassador.
Attending the signing ceremony, Azerbaijan`s Education Minister Misir Mardanov
expressed his gratitude to the government of Japan for development of the country`s
education system.
