NUMBER OF DENGUE PATIENTS AT JAKARTA'S FATMAWATI HOSPITAL INCREASING
Jakarta, Jan 12 (ANTARA) - The number of dengue patient at Fatmawati hospital in South Jakarta begins to increase in the current uncertain whether, a hospital spokesman said.
"The number of dengue patients at Fatmawati hospital begins to increase," Hospital spokesman Atom Kadam said on Monday.
He said the number of dengue patients this week could increase to 78 while the capacity of the hospital rooms for dengue patients was only for 70 patients.
Therefore, he said, Fatmawati has begun to use velbeds. The hospital only has 50 velbeds. If dengue patients continued to increase Fatmawati would try to borrow some from institutions which had enough number of the facility.
"If our velbeds are not enough to serve patients we will borrow some from other institutions such as the Jakarta Health Service office," he said.
Besides, the hospital could also use a number of rooms for public patients, which were still unoccupied.
He said that the number of 78 dengue patients showed an increase if compare with that in January which was only 65 patients a day.
Of the number, adult patients are about two or three times bigger than child patients, he said.
