The Deputy Premier and acting Minister of Health and Sport Ts.Oyunbaatar said it during the “Hour of Minister” weekly meeting, on Thursday. Currently, 457 people are in hospital due to measles, 22 of them are being treated in the intensive care unit. By age groups, 46% of the patients are 15-25 years old, 7.5%--0-8 months old, who have not reached the age of vaccination yet, the Minister said. He also said the cabinet meeting had discussed an issue of reducing cases of measles and decided to involve 18-30-year old people in extra vaccination. Necessary money will be allotted from the governmental reserves. “The NCL has some ten thousand doses of vaccines for adults, and over 75 thousand doses for children. Now it is necessary to augment the number of professional medical doctors majoring in lemology,” he said. In connection with the dry season, the acting Minister reported about cases of steppe and forest fires and urged people to take preventive measures. As of today, 11 fires have been recorded in nine soums of four provinces, and in the Bogd Khaan Mountain.
