Thai PM gives green light to expand quality learning time

BANGKOK, May 16 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha gives the green light to the Ministry of Education to go ahead with a plan to reduce classroom sessions but increase quality learning times for students. Realizing that the plan has been welcomed by both teachers and parents, the prime minister has approved the increased number of local schools under the plan, dubbed the smart training, to 15,897 this year, representing its second batch. Thai Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists of the development on May 15, saying that the prime minister would like the schools to focus on activities which help develop analytical thinking and ethic morality among children. According to the spokesman, the prime minister suggested that the activities be adjusted to suit different areas and demands of local students in the separate areas. (TNA)
