1ST MEETING OF HEADS OF ECO TRADE PROMOTION ORGANIZATIONS TO BE HELD IN TEHRAN
16 January BAKU (AzerTAc). “The Iran Trade Promotion Organization will host the 1st
Meeting of Heads of ECO Trade Promotion Organizations (ECO-TPOs) in Tehran on 18-19
January 2009.
It is an important event, aimed at institutionalizing cooperation
among the Trade Promotion Organizations of tern Member ECO countries”, ECO
secretariat press release reads.
The Heads of delegations will deliberate on preparation of a joint strategy for
promotion of intra-regional trade and trade with the rest of the world. The meeting
would also evolve a mechanism for exchange of trade information, organizing joint
fairs, cooperation in market and product research, establishing sector specific
associations and enhancing trade in services.
The meeting will be inaugurated by Minister for Commerce of Iran. The Ambassadors
and Commercial Counselors of the Mission of ECO in Tehran have also been invited for
meeting. Delegations from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey and
Turkmenistan have confirmed their participation in the two days meeting.
