WREATH PLACED AT GRAVE OF RENOWNED ORIENTALIST IRENE MELIKOFF ON BEHALF OF AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT
Baku, January 16 (AzerTAc). On behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Paris placed a wreath at the grave of renowned representative of Azerbaijani community in France, orientalist Irene Melikoff.
Irene Melikoff was buried in the Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois Cemetery near Paris on
January 14. Azerbaijani Ambassador Tarik Aliyev attended the funeral to offer
condolences to Mrs. Melikoff`s family members on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev
and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.
The funeral was attended by members of Azerbaijan`s community, employees of the
Embassy and representatives of the French public.
