Lubna Al Qasimi participates in women’s economic empowerment meeting in Costa Rica

SAN JOSE: Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has taken part in the UN Secretary-General High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, which was held under the patronage of Luis Guillermo Solis Rivera, President of the Republic of Costa Rica. The meeting, which was held last Friday in the Costa Rican capital, San Jose, was attended by Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, representatives from UN Women, the International Labour Organisation, the International Monetary Fund, and a number of non-governmental organisations. The meeting addressed best practices and learned lessons regarding the economic empowerment of women, as well as challenges faced in women economic empowerment, solutions and recommendations.
