Abdullah bin Zayed, Mogherini discuss latest regional, international developments

BRUSSELS, 20th July, 2016 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, yesterday met with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union, EU, for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, in Brussels. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation in various fields and ways to enhance them in all domains. Sheikh Abdullah and Mogherini also exchanged views on the latest regional and global developments and the stance of the two sides towards fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, as well as the importance of maintaining international peace and security, and preserving the region's stability. They also tackled ways of increasing the trade volume between EU and the UAE and boosting cooperation among them in the important sectors. Sheikh Abdullah confirmed that the visit is in line with the UAE's desire to look for new cooperation horizons through which it would be able to enhance ties with the EU. Mogherini stressed the importance of the partnership between EU and the UAE, noting that ties are witnessing notable development.
